Tales of Unease

Tales of Unease was a British supernatural drama series based on a series of horror story anthologies, edited by John Burke. The series ran for seven episodes in 1970. The anthologies were published between 1960 and 1969.

A college artist meets a beautiful, oddly behaving girl at a college dance who insists he gives her a ride home.

2. Calculated Nightmare

Air Date: 1970-11-06

Two business executives are trapped for the night on a deserted office floor by a disgruntled employee who has hacked the elevator system.

3. The Black Goddess

Air Date: 1970-11-13

Working in a coal mine Morgan suspects that his fellow miner is losing his mind as he often rambles about seeing 'The Black Goddess' who haunts the workings and demands a sacrifice...then a pitfall occurs and terrifyingly he does not seem so mad after all.

4. It's Too Late Now

Air Date: 1970-11-20

Inside an English countryside house, Sarah has resolved to lock her husband in his windowless study after years of suffering dejection. The husband has always been devoted to his typewriter and that is the only sound that comes off the room. She is willing to see his reaction in such a predicament. Yet the man remains steadfastly typing unaware of Sarah's decision. Sarah begins to feel remorse. But will she let him out?

5. Superstitious Ignorance

Air Date: 1970-11-27

A young couple, eager to purchase their dream house, spot a property that befits their idea. However, the landlady warns them about weird occurrences in one of the upstairs rooms.

6. Bad Bad Jo Jo

Air Date: 1970-12-04

Kayo Hathaway created a wildly successful comic strip featuring "Bad Bad Jo Jo", a murderous hulking white racist, and his cackling mother. Hathaway is about to go into tax exile but decides to entertain a couple of fans. Hathaway is louche and cynical. The two fans like to dress up as the characters and act out their fantasies. Hathaway is their next victim.

7. The Old Banger

Air Date: 1970-12-11

A couple finding their old car worthless at a scrapyard tries to abandon it in another area, only to keep seeing it again on streets that are getting closer to their home.
